Diocesan Bell Fund Raising - 1999

Six grants were paid during 1999 totalling some £24,000:

  • Blechingdon - £4,000
  • Charlton-on-Otmoor - £3,000
  • Little Compton - £4,000
  • Longcot - £5,000
  • Wardington - £2,400
  • Wigginton - £5,600

During the year, grants were provisionally allocated as indicated below :

  • Grendon Underwood - £2,700
  • Headington - £2,850
  • Little Milton - £3,500
  • Nettlebed - £3,600
  • Purley - £5,500
  • Shrivenham - £450
  • Soulbury - £4,100
  • Tadmarton - £2,600
  • Wallingford - £5,100

Fund raising

New money raised in 1999 amounted to £9,557. This included £1,418 from the Guild Draw, £4,375 from branch donations and £1,053 from the Ringing Day. Donations from 18 PCCs amounted to £591 and 15 tower funds contributed £1,354. Covenanted donations from individuals totalled £255.

Investments

Investment income during the year and available for distribution as grants was £17,159. The total capital subscribed to the Fund at the end of the year was £176,082. This is invested in accordance with professional advice from the Diocese. The market value of the investments at the end of the year was provisionally £346,519.
