Diocesan Bell Fund Raising - 1997

Eight grants were paid during 1997 totalling some £28,015:

  • Barkham - £1,350
  • Langley Marish - £7,500
  • Linslade - £5,000
  • Monks Risborough - £3,850
  • Turville - £3,000
  • Souldern - £2,745
  • Stonefield - £2,270
  • Thame - £2,300

Fund raising

New money raised in 1997 amounted to £7,760. This included £829 from the Draw, £3,917 from branch donations and £778 from the ringing day. Donations from 19 PCCs amounted to £457 and 13 tower funds contributed £915. Covenanted donations from individuals totalled £202. Donations totalling £600 were received in memory of Bob Datson; this represented a fine tribute and shows the respect and affection for him by so many people.

Investments

Investment income during the year and available for distribution as grants was £12,977 (1996: £12,227). The total capital subscribed to the Fund at the end of the year was £158,480. This is invested in accordance with professional advice from the Diocese. The market value of the investments at the end of the year was £278,254.
