Brief History

The old 19cwt ring of six was recast in 1983 and augmented to an eight with a tenor of 17cwt. The Bells were hung in a new metal frame for eight, though within a few months the tenor was replaced with the existing heavier bell. Ten years later the frame was extended and four new trebles added to create a ring of twelve all hanging on one tier. At this time tuning work was carried out on the front five bells of the eight. In 1996 a sharp second was added by Taylors and hung on the same level as the other bells, replacing a dumb-bell which was removed owing to space constraints.

Frame: lowside iron.
Gear: iron headstocks, ball-bearings; all by Taylor’s of Loughborough.

A ring of 12; tenor 19-0-6, tuned to E.
